BIOGRAPHYPeter Boles is first and foremost a storyteller......and he has plenty of stories to tell.The Ventura, California-based singer-songwriter has often been called a "throwback". In the tradition of the bards of old, his songs chronicle a life filled with travel, adventure and hardship -- around campfires, on oil rigs and construction sites, rolling down the highway with a wooden box on the back of the truck that he called home. He worked his way from Alaska to Texas, stopping in all the places inbetween, gathering friends and experiences that are the life blood of his art. Peter's musical style is unique, having evolved over 32 years a cross between country and folk, with large handfuls of bluegrass and just plain blues thrown in for good measure. His clear baritone combines with a versatile picking style on guitar and bluesy harmonica to deliver the stories born of his travels. Throughout his musical travels, Peter has opened for the likes of Commander Cody, Marshall Tucker Band, Helen Reddy, The Texas Tornados, and Eddie Rabbit to name a few. LA Times music reviewer, Bill Locey had this to say about Peter: Boles has a strong clear voice, up there with Gordon Lightfoot, John Stewart and the other folk hot guys... In his latest CD, Peter takes the listener from a mountaintop bathed in Alaskan moonlight to the tides of the Pacific Ocean in coastal California, the culmination of over 30 years on the road.
